Yes!
I want a world where we can all can bring our whole selves to everything we do. I want women, femmes, non-binary & LGBTQAI folks, especially in BIPOC communities, to thrive—as well as friends and allies fighting for racial and social justice. I welcome anyone who shares this vision and is doing the work (and lord knows we have a lot of work to do within “Latinx” communities.) ¡Bienvenidxs todxs!
what if i’m not an artist or an arts worker?
While the folks I work with are largely in the arts ecosystem—leaders of arts organizations, grantmakers in arts and culture, writers, academics, independent artists, etc.—I am happy to work with people across different fields. Come through, que caben más!
do my READINGS OR SESSIONS need to be about CREATIVE projects?
Not at all. We’ll work on whatever you decide. In my experience, even when processes are centered around a creative project or any ‘work’ issues, they end up being connected to all manner of life-stuff… It’s all intertwined.
What is a process doula?
Just like a doula helps someone during a pregnancy process, I help you as you develop your goals, grow your practice(s), and take concrete action so that—6 months to a year down the line—you can give birth to your intentions. We have a relationship of equals, but the responsibility for decisions and actions lies solely with you. (Como yo les digo: I cannot 'have the baby' for you—like a doula, I can be with you, help you breathe, champion you as you push. But this is your baby.) I support you by actively listening, offering insights, being an accountability partner, proposing challenges, holding your sacred promises to yourself. Our co-created agreements can be re-designed at any time, as needed, to ensure an honest, safe, and brave place for exploration. Everything we discuss will remain confidential.
CAN MY UNIVERSITY OR INSTITUTION PAY YOU DIRECTLY TO SUPPORT MY PROCESS?
Absolutely. Harvard, Yale, and the UC system already have me on their books because I’ve worked with their professors. Ask your university to support you!
Are you a psychic?
No.
Are you an astrologer?
No. I’m a double Leo with a rising Scorpio, but I leave the astrology to Walter Mercado, que en mucho amor descanse.
Are you a REIKI PRACTITIONER?
Kind of. I am technically a Reiki Master and teacher, but I see the practice more as a guided meditation
Are you a COACH?
Yes, I am a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) and Associate Certified Coach (ACC). This is what I describe as Process Doula work, as it conveys a sense of accompaniment through deeply personal processes of creation and transformation. My clients tend to be artists, scholars, and writers who yearn for shared space and accountability as they begin, develop, or work to complete their manuscripts, dissertations, or other creative projects. (Most often, the key to those processes is finding new ways to BE with ourselves.)
WHAT DOES “CHANCLETAZO” MEAN?
Getting a chancletazo means being slapped on the butt by a flip-flop—a chancleta, or chancla, for short—usually by a parent or grandparent, usually for misbehaving in some way, and it is the stuff of legend in Caribbean cultures and beyond. The metaphorical chancletazos I invoke here —like a “Zen slap,” I am told!— are not intended to punish or hurt, but rather to flip a reversed card, to nudge, to call to attention, to spur movement.
what Do “limPiastination” and “cyberlimpiastination” mean?
That’s not a frequently asked question, or a question anyone has ever asked, but lemme give you the answer anyway: limpiastination is the act of procrastinating by cleaning, and cyberlimpiastination is to procrastinate by cleaning up your digital life. Avoidance tactics to avoid!

Definitivamente. Nací y me crié en Puerto Rico y el español es mi primer idioma. También he aprendido a hablar tremendo Spanglish desde que vivo en Nueva York, así que podemos switchear palante y patrás a nuestras anchas.
